Install EditBuddy in Premiere Pro
EditBuddy runs as a native extension inside Adobe Premiere Pro (2024 or newer). It takes about a minute — pick your operating system below.
Close Premiere Pro
Make sure Adobe Premiere Pro is fully closed before you install.
Unzip & run the installer
Unzip EditBuddy-Installer.zip, then double-click install.bat. It copies EditBuddy into Premiere and enables it automatically.
Open EditBuddy
Restart Premiere Pro, then open Window › Extensions › EditBuddy.
“Windows protected your PC”? Windows SmartScreen shows this for any new installer script. Click More info › Run anyway — it’s safe. The installer only writes to Premiere’s own extensions folder.
Prefer a ZXP installer? Grab EditBuddy.zxp from the download page and open it with a free ZXP installer such as ZXPInstaller or Adobe’s ExManCmd. Then restart Premiere.

Close Premiere Pro
Fully quit Adobe Premiere Pro before installing.
Install the .zxp
Open EditBuddy-mac.zxp with a free ZXP installer like ZXPInstaller (drag the file onto its window). It installs EditBuddy into Premiere for you.
Open EditBuddy
Restart Premiere Pro, then open Window › Extensions › EditBuddy.
If Premiere doesn’t show the extension, enable debug loading (one-time) in Terminal, then restart Premiere:
defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.11 PlayerDebugMode 1
On some Premiere versions the number is CSXS.12 — setting both is harmless.
Troubleshooting
EditBuddy isn’t in the Extensions menu
Fully quit Premiere Pro (not just the panel) and reopen it — extensions load at startup. If it’s still missing, re-run the installer, or on macOS set PlayerDebugMode as shown above.
“Unknown publisher” or a security prompt
EditBuddy is code-signed but not yet through Adobe’s marketplace, so you may see an “unknown publisher” note. It’s safe to allow — the installer/ZXP only touch Premiere’s extensions folder.
Extension Manager error (e.g. status -193)
That’s a third-party manager app failing to start — not EditBuddy. Use the one-click installer instead, or install the .zxp with ZXPInstaller.
It says my license is invalid
